We had a gathering last night, with family visiting from India. Topic include Trump, Biden, Kamala, our trouble stirring cousin, AI overlords.

A dog though has the uncanny insight to change the pervading conversation. It’s wonderful how their enthusiasm for a ball, and ours to please them makes an evening.

Almaden, and its unruly wilderness helps me with my “forest bathing”, even in the height of summer. I think the Japanese have the right idea (and a word for it), the color green does ground me, resets my notions of enjoyment, and gives me the ability to have fun, a skill that I have to work on.

As the break winds down, and thoughts of school uniforms, and “morning routine” returns to my vocabulary, I am glad that I have the dry creek and a broken fence overgrown with a flower bush in my backyard as my grounding wire.
